Learning

The Chinese class Steve is attending has just a few students, but it has old & young with Asian, Western and mixed people. There is a Chinese teenager (his mother is Vietnamese-Chinese, but speaks Cantonese), age around 13; a young Chinese-Westerner mix (his mother is Taiwanese and father is American), age around 18; a senior American, age around 60. Besides Steve, I think that the senior is the other one who has the most inspiration to learn. The teenager did not want to attend class but was forced by his mother.
Once, they had a conversation:
Steve said to the teenager, “…it is easier to learn Chinese while young, don’t wait until my age.”
The teenager said, “It is better not to wait until his age”, pointing to the senior.
The senior said. “It is true!”
