Chinese family-style meal

这一天,我煮了两菜一湯,一盤宮保鸡丁、菜脯蛋及紫菜魚丸湯。夫妻俩如一般华人住家式的一起用餐,不过宮保鸡丁是Steve的,菜脯蛋及紫菜魚丸湯是我的。

对於吃食物有他自己一套的吃法包括中餐他是吃完鸡肉类之后,才吃白飯!(他不喜歡吃炒飯的)即使是我已向他解释中餐的吃法是菜肉类配飯一起吃他却说,一起吃的话就吃不出各别食物类的味道了!

Once, I cooked three dishes – chicken in kung pao sauce, preserved turnip with eggs (omelette) and dried seaweed & fish ball soup. Both of us like a Chinese family-style meal, but Steve just had his chicken only and the preserved turnip omelettes and dried seaweed & fish ball soup were for me.

Steve has a habit when eating, even when it is Chinese food…you see, he finishes the dish of chicken first, then goes for the plain rice! (He doesn’t much like fried rice.) Although I explained to him about Chinese eating their dishes together with rice…. He says he can’t taste the delicious food as well if eating them together!
