The message

Ikut surat arahan lah…aku tak BOLEH buat… xyz=zyx…”

I sent the application form for my PR card (green card) once we received our marriage certificate at the beginning of July. . We were lucky that we only paid US$395, instead of more than US$1000; the fee increased after July 30, 2007, as mentioned on the web! Today I was lucky too:

I received a letter for my biometrics appointment last Friday. The appointment date is Oct 15. We felt happy and worried that day. We were happy because I need to get the process done as soon as possible so that I can get my green card. Then I can travel outside the US, like returning to Penang during Chinese New Year. We were worried because we booked our tickets to Hawaii for Oct 10 – 17. Steve called the airline to check about postponing the trip but no tickets were available until after the 21st. We read in the letter that if we needed to re-schedule the appointment date, then we must send back that letter and wait for them to send a new appointment date. I was thinking positive and I had hope! I said to Steve, “If I bring my passport to the office, perhaps we will meet a kind person and he/she could do my biometrics on the spot. I feel most people in St. Louis are friendly and kind.”

This morning after I woke up, I sent a message to the universe: Today I will go to the appointment office and I will succeed in meeting a kind person to do my biometrics on the spot.

It really worked; the message I sent to the universe worked. We were lucky and met a kind staff lady! On Oct 1, I did this process, and it means I didn’t have wait until the 15th; it was done two weeks early.

Do you think this is possible with the government staff in Malaysia? Some of them might say, “You don’t know how to read? Follow the instructions in the letter…I can’t DO…”
