Reading

Dyer告诉觀眾,他用一年的时間研究老子的<道德經>,而且他寫了一本有關'道'的書<Change Your Thoughts - Change Your Life>。

Reading is popular for westerners. You will be rich if you are a famous author!

Steve just finished reading the seventh Harry Potter book, but I just began to read the first Harry Potter book… That book is from one of the bookcases full of those many books bought by Steve. Steve just began to read the English translation of <紅樓夢>; it’s titled “The Story of the Stone” in English. He just got the books a few days ago after buying them online. Three days ago, we watched a famous author and speaker, Dr. Wayne Dyer, on TV. Dr. Dyer told the audience that he used one year to study the “Tao Te Ching” by Lao Tsu, and he wrote a book regarding ‘Tao’ titled “Change Your Thoughts - Change Your Life”. PBS (public TV) also promoted a package of books and CDs etc. to support their show. Steve already had English translations of “Tao Te Ching”, but he felt that the books and CDs from Dr. Dyer would be interesting too. Thus, he ordered that package immediately. Steve said he likes the knowledge of Dr. Dyer. Though this was the first time I heard him, I felt his talk was very interesting…

I haven’t really read “The Story of the Stone” nor “Tao Te Ching”. I felt ‘behind’ knowing westerners are reading them…

Don't feel like you're behind, sinE. Not all people are avid readers like Steve, and VERY few Americans read the type of books he reads. You are way ahead of things in my mind because of your sense of adventure in life, your openness, and your ability to speak so many languages.
What a gift!
