Do you miss ‘Muah Chee’麻芝?
I didn’t think it was so easy to make ‘Muah Chee’ at home. The ingredients are simple and it only needs to cook for 2 minutes in the microwave!
‘Muah Chee’ snack hawkers in Penang are becoming rarer. They prepare the treats at home and mount a container on the back seat of a motorcycle. Then they ride around and stop on the streets around the community to sell it.
Sometimes we see it, but don’t care to have this snack because it is not so special. However, since I am talking about it, you might miss and want to have some ‘Muah Chee’, but can’t find it at the moment.
想不到‘麻芝’(Muah Chee)这么容易做,很简单的材料,只要两分钟放进微波炉就煮熟了!在槟城已越来越少见卖‘麻芝’ 的,卖这小食点的人是在家煮好了,就用摩托车在后座架上锡装盛具,到处去兜售了!
有时看到有人卖,也没觉得很特别,吃不吃到‘麻芝’ 也没什么会想念。但经我现在一讲起它,你一定会想吃,可是你却未必容易买到它!

Which one is the Head of the group?
A topic of Buddhism to discuss:
There are ‘Three Poisons’ called: Greed, Anger, Ignorance
When we want to eliminate these, we should catch the head of the group, but which one is the Head?
I think:
Belief/thought will influence action, and action will influence emotion
Belief/thought – Ignorance
Action – Greed
Emotion – Anger
It should deal with Ignorance, and then transform greed to giving, so the feeling will be joyful.
How to deal with Ignorance? Develop Wisdom.
How to get Wisdom? Develop Morality and do Meditation.
These are called the ‘Three Trainings or Practices’:
Sila (Virtue, Morality)
Samadhi (Meditation, Concentration)
Prajna (Wisdom, Enlightenment)

Self-awareness of emotions and feelings
The assignment this week is to observe your feelings/emotions in various situations throughout the day. You should write at least three situations:
1. Simply describe the situation, example: my coworker wants me to help with his job…
2. This issue makes me feel (any emotion, positive or negative), example: angry, happy, anxious, etc.
3. Rate the intensity of the emotion/feeling – 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest), example: rate 7
4. How long did the emotion/feeling affect me, example: 1 hour
这星期的功课: 观察你在生活事件中出现的情绪感受
写出至少三件事:
1. 简单描述事件,例子: 我的同事要我幫他的工作…
2. 这事让你感觉(任何正或负面情绪/感受),例子: 氣憤、高興、焦急或其他
3. 评估那情绪感受的激烈度 - 1(最低)到10(最高),例子: 評估7
4. 那情绪感受影响我多久,例子: 1小時

Practicing sincerity
This week’s homework: whenever I greet people, such as "Hi! How are you? Have a great day!" Ask myself, “Do I really mean it? Do I greet people with sincerity?”
Practice sincerity to myself, and sincerity when giving my best blessing to others in daily life.
At the end of the day, review: Did I improve today? Did I feel more peaceful and happier by cheering up others whenever I greeted them, and did others sense my sincerity?
这星期的功课﹕当我每次问侯人 “你好!你好吗?祝福!” 时,问自己,“我是否发自内心的真诚?我是否诚心诚意问侯人呢?”
每天修持真诚的对自己,也以这真诚的心对他人,给于诚心诚意的祝福。
过了一天,再问自己﹕今天有进步吗?观察自己是否内心比较和谐喜悦,问侯人时而会令他人感受到那份真诚更愉悦?
